Tamaqua hangs on for victory
Tamaqua held on to post a win over Schuylkill Valley in legion baseball action over the weekend.
Other locals winners included the Birches and Northern Valley.

Tamaqua jumped out to an early lead and then held off a Schuylkill Valley rally to escape with a 10-8 victory.
The Blue Sox used a five-run second inning to build a 9-2 lead before Schuylkill Valley scored six times over the last three innings.
Toby Rosen led the Blue Sox with a double, homer, two RBIs and two runs scored. Luke Matsago added two singles and two RBIs.
Schuylkill Valley's Matt McGinley finished with three hits and two runs scored.

Jake Kern tossed a four-hitter to help Northern Valley gain a 4-2 win over West End.
Sawyer Smith and Payton Bachman each had two hits while Tyler Harris scored two runs and knocked in a pair.

Christian Marcin, a Palmerton graduate, tossed a two-hitter and struck out 10 to lead Coplay to a 5-2 win over Southern Lehigh.

Wind Gap-Birches
Xavier Hammond struck out 11 batters and allowed just six hits to help Birches post a 7-4 win over Wind Gap.
Joey Weismith had two hits and knocked in three runs for the winners while John Guadagna added a pair of hits.
