Couple arrested in Schuylkill incident

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the arrest of a Schuylkill County couple.

Allen Enders, 48, of Tremont, and Stephanie Enders, 30, of Schuylkill Haven, were both arrested following an incident that occurred on Friday, May 27, about 12:45 p.m. in Boscov's Department store in the Fairlane Village Mall, in Norwegian Township.

Troopers said both suspects entered the store and placed a large amount of clothing items in a shopping art. Allen Enders was then caught by security personnel attempting to remove the items, valued at over $800, from the store, while Stephanie Enders waited outside in a getaway vehicle with the motor running. She then drove off.

Troopers allege the same two had committed the same crime the previous day but store security had not been able to capture them that day, as the made off with an unknown amount of clothing items. The couple were accompanied by two small children during the incidents. Troopers also noted the two had protection from abuse (PFA) orders against each other at the time.

Allen Enders was taken into custody and arraigned on misdemeanor charges of retail theft, corruption of minors and indirect criminal contempt of court. Stephanie Enders was taken into custody on Saturday, May 28, and arraigned on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft, corruption of minors and indirect criminal contempt of court.

Both were unable to post bail and were committed to the county prison in Pottsville.
