Driver sought in Thorpe incident

Jim Thorpe police are seeking the driver of a vehicle involved in a crash early Thursday, June 9.

Police said about 5:07 a.m. they were dispatched to W. 10th Sreeet to a report of a one-vehicle crash. Upon arrival officers found a 2005 Hyundai Sonata with severe damages but no driver. A further investigation revealed that several front lawns in the area had been ripped up by the vehicle.

Police then made contact with the registered owner, Steven L. Sommerfield, of 30 W. Broadway, who said he had parked the car near his residence about 10 p.m. on Wednesday. He said it was locked.
