A Tamaqua driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, along Interstate 81 in Kline Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Dustin Hill, 22, was driving a 1995 Volkswagen Jetta southbound when he lost control.

The vehicle went onto the west berm and struck a guide rail. Hill and his passenger, Carly Neifert, 20, of Nesquehoning, were reportedly not injured.

Hill was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was transported to the barracks for a breath test.

The test showed him over the legal limit of .08 percent, troopers said.

Troopers said the DUI charge was filed against Hill.
