Results of joint effort released

The result of a joint effort by members of the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department and state police at the Fern Ridge barracks were announced. The joint operation was conducted during the past weekend, June 10-12, in the entire area covered by both departments and included the Pocono International Raceway.

The purpose of the operation, according to a press released from PMRP, was to deter and detect drivers suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The operation included a DUI checkpoint on Saturday night and multiple DUI roving patrols conducted throughout the weekend.

The result of the operation included the following arrests: 13 for driving under the influence; four for drugs; two felony warrants; one public drunkenness; and 70 traffic code violations.

PMRP also made one criminal arrest at the race track.
