TN football players to participate in McDonald's All-Star game

The McDonald's All-Star game will once again give some local TIMES NEWS athletes an opportunity to hit the gridiron one last time as high school football players.

The annual all-star game between the Red and Gold teams will kick-off this Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at Andrew Leh Stadium.

The game will pit the Gold team, which includes players from Northampton County schools, along with Palisades and Phillipsburg (NJ), against the Red team, which includes players from Carbon, Lehigh and Monroe County schools.

Thirteen local TIMES NEWS area athletes will represent the local coverage area at the annual event at Nazareth Area High School. The list includes Northern Lehigh's Cody Remaley (RB), Jacob Kern (WR, FS), Matt Gill (LB), Carl Salhberg(OT) and Michael Buresh (DE), Pleasant Valley's Derrik Walling (QB), Rich Irving (WR), Rob Calhoun (CB) and Rich Hargrove (OL, NG), Palmerton's Travis Labyack (WR, DB) and Jarred Harry (OL,DL), Lehighton's Noah Tkach (C) and Northwestern's Anthony Wargo (OT,DT).

The Red team will also be led by one of the local TIMES NEWS area coverage teams in Northern Lehigh's head coach Joe Tout. He will pace the sideline along with one of his own Bulldog assistants in Dan Blazosky. Pleasant Valley head coach Jim Terwilliger and Stroudsburg assistant Steve Hluschak, who also played in the TIMES NEWS area as a Northern Lehigh Bulldog, will also serve as Red team assistant coaches.
