Nesquehoning man faces charges

Brian Boner, 49, of 1 W. Diaz Ave., Nesquehoning, faces charges from an incident which took place on Dec. 4, 2010 on E. Patterson St., Lansford. Charges were filed by Officer Joshua Tom. Boner is charged with possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance and turning movement and required signals.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, here's what happened:

At 8:44 p.m. that day, Tom and Officer Brian Zulic were on patrol when they saw a green sedan turning left without using a turn signal. Tom stopped the car, and Zulic approached the driver's side. As he got close, he saw the driver putting an object down the front of his pants. The officers secured the driver, identified as Boner, and the object.

Boner readily admitted to having illegal drugs on his person. there were five bags that broke down into two bags of powder cocaine and three bags of crack cocaine. The total weight was 1.1 grams.
