Divorces Granted
John B. Savitz, Pines Motel, Tamaqua, was granted a divorce from Julie E. Savitz, 19 Spirit Court, New Ringgold. They were married July 28,1995.
Sherri L. Gerber, 4 W. Lehigh St., Coaldale, was granted a divorce from Chad M. Gerber, 232 Front St., Lansford. They were married May 5, 2005.
Jennifer E. Rau, Ashland, was granted a divorce from Joel P. Rau, Frackville. They were married Sept. 18, 1999.
Erica L. Daub, Shickshinny, was granted a divorce from Daniel L. Daub, Tower City. They were married Jan. 1, 2005.
Derek Jackson Sr., Pottsville, was granted a divorce from Joanne Jackson, Rochester, N.Y. They were married Sept. 26, 2002.
Pleads guilty
Cloe M. Petusky, 20, Shenandoah, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and was placed on probation by Judge John E. Domalakes for six months, and ordered to pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, a $300 fine, a $50 monthly supervision fee, complete the alcohol highway safety school. She was charged by Deputy Sheriff Scott Taylor when stopped in Shenandoah.
Treasurer's report
County Treasurer Jacqueline V. McGovern gave the financial report for the month of May.
The beginning balance was $49,971,427.19; deposits, $21,085,133.95; disbursements, $13,113,195.90 and balance at end of month, $57,943,365.24. Real estate taxes received during the month totaled $11,4361,9115.98; funded debt tax, $566,647.72 and per capita tax, $107,973.65.
Revenues from sale of licenses by the treasurer's office, dog, $848.05; fish, $23; bingo, $450 and small game of chance, $2,760. Other revenues, magisterial offices, $60,738.88; 9-1-1 land telephone tariff, $67,895.02; 9-1-1 departmental earnings, $815.35; and hotel tax, $9,448.80.
Credit card debt
Discover Bank, of New Albany, Ohio, filed suit against Patricia Sherkness and Andrew Sherkness, 27 N. Madison St., McAdoo, alleging they have defaulted on payment on credit card and owe $10,568.12.
Discover Bank filed a suit against Kathleen M. Bair, 855 Barnesville Drive, Barnesville, alleging she owes $4,162.44 on her credit card.
Citybank (South Dakota), Sioux Falls, S.D., filed suit against Indiana Paulini, 407 E. Grant St., McAdoo, alleging $5,717.48 on her credit card.
Bids for coal
The Schuylkill County Commissioners received two bids to supply coal for the courthouse and prison. Reading Anthracite Company bid $184.50 per ton and Blaschak Coal Corporation bid $195 per ton.
