LV in Carpenter Cup semis

The Lehigh Valley entry in the Carpenter Cup softball tournament won both games on Wednesday to advance to this morning's semfinal round.

Lehigh Valley defeated Chester County 9-3 and then went on to score a 3-1 win over Tri-Cape.

Lehigh Valley faced Mercer County at 9 a.m. this morning at FDR Park in Philadelphia.

The winner took on SOL American & Continental at 11 a.m. If SOL American & Continental fails to win the 11 o'clock game, a championship game will be played at 1 p.m.

Palmerton's Martina Herring and Northern Lehigh's Megan Filchner are members of the LV squad.
