DUI arrests

State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers, both occurring on Wednesday, June 15.

About 9:23 p.m. troopers stopped John Michael Stubits, 50, of Slatington, along Trachsville Hill Road, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for several motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest, troopers said.

At 10:37 p.m. while on routine patrol troopers observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the JC Park off Molasses Valley Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, with its lights off. A check was made to make sure everything was alright.

The driver was identified as Justin Robert Stuyck, 22, of Kresgeville. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest, troopers said.
