Western Pocono Lioness

The Western Pocono Lioness Club will host a Patriotic Coloring Contest at the Chestnuthill Park in Brodheadsville from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 2.

The board will meet at the Western Pocono Community Library at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 6.

Lion Mary Jane Lucrezi represented the club as a celebrity bagger at Kinsley's Celebrity Bagger Day.

Caregiver's support

On July 6, from 6:30-8 p.m., the Caregiver's Support Group will meet on the first floor of the Loder Building.

Graduates honored

Effort UMC honored its graduates from all schools Sunday, particularly from high school and college.

Recognized were Theresa Decker, Temple University; Keith Pierson, ESU; Caiti Pierson, ESU; Sally Dorpfeld, Colorado University of Phoenix, AZ; Jill Yetter, DeSales University; Laura Catina, Northampton Community College; Maria Celestino-Sawoe, nursing school; and two PVHS grads, Gabriel Everitt and Stephanie Buck.

St. Peter's VBS

Vacation Bible School will be held from 9 a.m. until noon, July 18-22 at St. Peter's UMC in Saylorsburg. Children ages 5-12 are invited.

The theme is: Panda Mania Where God is Wild About You.

An almost full house greeted the West End Assembly of God Youth Choir from Richmond, Va. as the 80-member troupe presented its program of song, dance and testimony, at Effort UMC last week
