Monroe crash

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, along Sugar Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Alexandru Gaca, 20, of Effort, was driving a 1997 Honda Prelude eastbound when he struck an icy patch. The car slid off the road and struck a mailbox and then a utility pole.

Gaca and his passenger, Bianca E. Aceveda, 20, also of Effort, both sustained minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention.

Troopers cited Gaca for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed and obedience to traffic control.
