Published March 03. 2011 05:00PM

A Schuylkill County man was jailed this week on warrants and other violations.

State police at Frackville said Russell Armand Helton, 34, of Mahanoy City, was stopped about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 along SR61 in New Castle Township for vehicle code violations.

During the course of the stop Helton attempted to provide false identification to the trooper to avoid apprehension on outstanding warrants.

Helton was taken into custody and charged with false reports to law enforcement and multiple motor vehicle code violations. He was arraigned before District Judge Anthony Kilker, of Shenandoah, and was unable to post bail and committed to the county prison in Pottsville.
