Hometown couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Weston recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Feb. 25, 1961 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Lansford, by the Rev. Francis Mealey.

Mrs. Weston is the former Jane Probert, daughter of the late Florence and Charles Probert, Lansford. Her husband is the son of the late Ted and Eulalia Weston, Tamaqua.

The Westons have four children: David, at home; Mary Kate Mashack, and her husband Paul, of Bloomsburg; Karen Bowerman, and her husband Jan, of Harrisburg; and Nancy Domin, and her husband Kevin, of Womelsdorf, Pa.

They have seven grandchildren.

A family dinner was held in their honor at Basile's Italian Restaurant in Hometown. A family trip is planned for this spring to also celebrate their golden anniversary.
