Cause of death still pending

The cause of death of a Shenandoah resident is still pending following an autopsy.

The body of Michael Sosna, 54, of 538 E. Mount Vernon St., Shenandoah, was found about 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, in his residence by responding medical personnel. They were called to the residence for a report of an unresponsive person.

State police at Frackville, who were asked to take over the investigation by Shenandoah police, said an autopsy was performed on Monday at the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, by Dr. Richard Bindei, forensic pathologist.

The cause of the death remains under investigation, troopers said. Troopers are being assisted in the probe by the county district attorney's office and the county coroner.
