Ruling made in Schuylkill death
The Schuylkill County Coroner's office has ruled a Shenandoah man, whose body was found at his home Sunday afternoon, died of natural causes.
Coroner Joseph Lipsett said Michael Sosna, 538 E. Mount Vernon St., died of hemorrhagic shock, bleeding hemangioma or lesions of the skin, a blood-clotting disorder called coagulopathy and end stage cirrosis of the liver, all medical-related conditions.
The findings were made during an autopsy performed by Dr. Richard P. Bindie, forensic pathologist, on Monday at the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville.
Lipsett said based on the findings of the autopsy he has ruled the death was by natural causes.
Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the home on Sunday afternoon for a report of an unresponsive male.
On scene EMS personnel found Sosna was dead. Shenandoah police initially responded but then requested the assistance of state police from Frackville, who took over the probe.
