Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 6, along the Burma Road, five-tenths of a mile east of St. Clair, in East Norwegian Township.

State police at Frackville said Lisa A. Wise, 37, of St. Clair, was driving a 2006 Hummer westbound and drove into a drainage ditch after striking two PennDOT road signs.

Wise, who was not injured, left the scene prior to arrival of troopers and was found at her residence.

She was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI, troopers said.

Damages to the vehicle were termed moderate.
