Vehicle stop leads to several counts

A routine vehicle stop led to the driver facing several charges.

State police at Lehighton said Edward Charles Kleintop, 39, of Saylorsburg, was stopped along Kunkletown Road at Dogwood Lane, in Ross Township, about noon on March 5. Troopers said Kleintop was known to have a suspended license.

At the stop troopers learned there was an active warrant for his arrest issued out of Monroe County and he was found to be under the influence. Also, located in the car was amount of suspected methamphetamine.

Kleintop was transported to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test and then taken to the county prison in Snydersville on the warrant. He is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and drug counts, troopers added.
