Schuylkill teen arrested for theft

A Schuylkill County teen was arrested on Tuesday, March 8, charged with stealing a vehicle.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said about 2 a.m. Benjamin Lee Neidlinger, 18, of Schuylkill Haven, smashed a glass window and entered the Auto Star Inc. business trailer located at Sammi's Mobile Home Park, North Manheim Township, and entered the trailer. Once inside he took the keys to a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse and fled the lot with the vehicle.

About 6 a.m. he returned to the scene with the vehicle and was confronted by the owner. Neidlinger then fled on foot from the scene.

Troopers later located Neidlinger at the Country Squire Motel and Restaurant, located along SR61 in the township, and took him into custody. He was arraigned before duty District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon, on charges of burglary, theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespass, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief and summary traffic violations.

Neidlinger was committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail.
