JROTC

A meeting of the JROTC of Panther Valley High School will be held on Thursday, March 17 at 6 p.m. in the classroom.

Summit Hill

St. Paul Lutheran

A healing service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Sunday, March 13, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. John F. Hazel Jr., pastor, will officiate. The Sunday school will meet at 9 a.m.

On Wednesday, March 16, a midweek Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. at the church. There will be a light supper of soup and sandwiches prior to worship at 6:15 p.m.

The parish's Confirmation class will meet on Sunday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the church. That is also the deadline for parishioners to submit articles for the church newsletter. They can be submitted to Emma Weaver.

Methodist Charge

The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, March 13, is as follows:

Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. A special collection will be received for Conferences Congo program. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.

The adult Sunday school will be held at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.

Registration open

Registration is open for Winnie-the-Pooh preschool in Summit Hill. If you would like to have your child in the program, call the school at (570) 645-4238. School is open from 9-11:30 a.m. and from 12:30-3 p.m. If no answer, leave a message and someone will return your call.

Lansford

Driver safety

The Outreach Committee of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will sponsor a driver safety course on Saturdays, April 2 and 9, form 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church hall.

The class will be presented by the A.A.R.P. and will include eight-hours of instructions presented in two four-hour sessions.

The class is designed for those attending for the first time and those desiring a more in-depth presentation. Those 50 and older are encouraged to attend the classroom-only course.

Drivers completing the course will receive a certificate that entitles them to a rate reduction on their automobile insurance.

Stations of Cross

In observance of Lent, St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will hold Stations of the Cross Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m., with the students of Our Lady of the Valley Academy, and on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. Confessions will be heard on Wednesdays from 4-4:45 p.m., Thursdays from 6:30-6:55 p.m. and on Saturdays from 3-3:50 p.m.

Nesquehoning

Choir practice

Choir practice next week at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning will be on Tuesday, March 15 at 1 p.m.

All choir members must attend this practice.

Free movie

Meed's United Methodist Church, West Catawissa St., Nesquehoning will host a Free Family Movie Night on Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m. The feature film will be "Toy Story 3." Popcorn and refreshments will be available.
