March 19, 2001 Tamaqua's singles players all win in straight sets and the Blue Raiders open their tennis season with a 5-0 victory over Lehighton. Zach Cheese gained a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles while Brandon Burkett (6-4, 6-1 at No. 2) and Mike Towle (6-0, 6-0 at No. 3) also cruise to victory. Tamaqua also gains doubles wins from the teams of Alec Troxell/Jon Dewire and Todd Dewire/Craig Krausse.
