Local conductor chosen for arts panel

Randall Douglas Perry, artistic director and conductor for the Bach and Handel Chorale, was recently chosen to participate on an eight-member panel at the state capitol in Harrisburg.

Perry and seven other representatives from Philadelphia, Erie, York, Johnston and Pittsburgh comprised a panel that reviewed grant applications for major orchestras, choruses and opera companies for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

The day-and-a-half session dealt with work product, budgets, narratives and mission statements. After scoring is completed, it is used by the PCA to determine grant awards.
