Slatington man facing gun count

A Slatington man is facing a gun possession charge following an incident that occurred on March 7.

Borough police said officers responded to 521 E. Church St., about 11:06 p.m. for a possible burglary in progress. Police determined there was no burglary.

However, upon arrival officers found Daniel G. Edwards, 27, of that address, had in his possession a firearm and it was learned he was not permitted to possess a firearm.

He was charged with persons not to possess, use, manufacutre, control, sell or transfer firearms.
