Crashes probed

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on two crashes investigated by troopers in recent days.

A crash occurred about 3:52 p.m. on Friday, April 29, along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township. Troopers said David D. Ta, of Mt. Pocono, was driving a 2002 Infiniti westbound in a construction zone with his vehicle struck a piece of construction equipment (a sweeper), which was attached to a 1997 Ford F150 truck driven by George Rice, of Jim Thorpe. There was no damage to the construction equipment and minor damages to the Infiniti. No one was injured.

Trooeprs said Ta was cited for careless driving.

The second crash occurred about 3:58 p.m. on Monday, May 2, along SR209 in front of the Turkey Hill store in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Bartlomiej Koscioczyk, 17, of Kunkletown, was stopped attempting to make a left turn into the store lot while southbound when he pulled in front of Brett Ottinger, 21, of Lehighton. Ottinger's 2005 Audi struck Koscioczyk's 2003 Ford Windstar. After impact the Audi struck a 1980 Buick Century driven by Elaine Robinson, 64, of Kresgeville.

No one was injured.
