Nesquehoning man charged

A Nesquehoning man has been charged with several criminal offenses for incidents that occurred in the borough.

Police Chief Sean Smith said Jaden John Diacheysn, 23, of 24 Allen St., has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment (three counts), and disorderly conduct (four counts).

Smith said the incidents occurred on April 26 and began about 3:08 p.m. when he received a complaint for a suspicious vehicle in thea area of 302 Coal St. The investigation led to SR209 where Diacheysn was encountered by Smith. Diacheysn was questioned by Smith and during the questioning Diacheysn repeatedly shouted and used obscene language despite being told to stop.

Later the same day Smith received a call from the county communications center reporting that Diacheysn called the center to complain about his neighbor and made threats over the phone and was loud and used obscene language despite being told to stop.

Smith was then dispatched to 302 W. Coal St., the home of Mary Hicks. Hicks told Smith that Diacheysn came to her residence and made threats against her and used obscene language and all this was in front of her 13-year-old daughter.

Smith later returned to the Hicks home at which time Hicks reported receiving a harassing phone call from Diacheysn when he again made threats. Some of the threats included the he would kill Hicks, Smith said.

The charges were filed on Tuesday, May 2, with the office of District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 8, at 2 p.m. before Kosciolek.
