Break-ins, theft and mischief
State police at Lehighton reported investigating burglaries, thefts and acts of criminal mischief in recent days.
Troopers said the home of Johan Victor Olsen, 229A Walker Lane, Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County, was entered sometime between April 18 and May 5. Entry was gained through a basement window. Removed from the residence was copper wiring, troopers said.
Copper piping and electrical wiring was removed from a residence at 1663 Upper Smith Gap Rd., in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County. The residence was entered sometime between March 31 and April 27, troopers said. The rental property is owned by David Martino, troopers said.
The residence of Patricia Baio, 42, of 115 Balliet Court, Townshouse No. 1, Kunkletown, Eldred Township, Monroe County, was entered sometime between April 30 and May 7. The criminals went to a bedroom in the home and removed a 20-inch silver necklace valued at $100.
The home of William Derosato, of Norristown, and located at 12 White Oak Drive, in Eldo Lakes, Polk Township, was entered and rummaged through but nothing was apparently taken. The incident was reported at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 9.
Troopers reported on the following acts of criminal mischief.
Along Rolling Hill and Ross roads, in Ross Township, unknown criminals smashed and damaged several mailboxes with an unknown type object. A red Ford pickup truck was believed used in the incident. The incident was reported at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7.
Bruce and Cheryl Rahman, of 3229 Laurel Lane, Saylorsburg, Ross Township, reported during the early morning hours of May 8 someone slashed three tires on their vehicle and also caused several scratches to the paint on the vehicle.
Adam Christopher Ash, 30, of 25 Sylvia Lane, Lehighton, reported someone drained oil from his vehicle while parked at his residence. The incident occurred sometime between 9 and 9:30 p.m. on May 4.
Donald Schaefer, 47, of 290 Manor Drive, Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported someone ignited firecrackers in his mailbox causing damages. The incident occurred sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. on May 6.
