Wants to see administrators take a pay cut

Dear Editor:

I had a good discussion with the Palmerton Area School Board at their May 3 meeting when I spoke about the difference between pay cuts and pay freezes. There may be people in the community that are willing to pay more taxes, but before I am willing to do anything of the sort, I want to see the superintendent, as well as the administration, take a pay cut.

Why should our kids programs get cut, but yet the superintendent just took a pay raise this past summer? At the May 3 meeting, there were several people that stood up telling the board that they themselves had to take pay cuts in the last couple of years, including myself.
