Carbon driver facing DUI count

A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:37 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11.

State police at Lehighton said Allen D. Fink, 49, of Palmerton, was southbound on Trachsville Hill Road in Towamensing Township when he failed to negotiate a left curve. His vehicle went onto the berm and into a small embankment, overturned and struck a utility pole.

Fink fled the scene on foot but was located in a wooded area near the scene. He was taken to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test, troopers said.
