DUI arrests

State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers on Monday, May 10, in separate incidents.

About 4:43 p.m. troopers stopped Jason Smith, 27, of 64 Lommason Glen Rd., in Belvidere, N.J., for a traffic violation along SR209 in the area where it mergers with SR33. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance or prescription medication, troopers allege, and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center (PMC), East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.

At 6:58 p.m. troopers stopped Robert Toth, 46, of Kunkletown, for several traffic violations along SR534, a mile south of Jonas Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Toth was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI. He will be charged, troopers added.
