New Bible study
McMichaels United Methodist Church, Route 715 and White Church Road, McMichaels, is offering a new Bible study.
It intends to answer the questions about the next life based on a book discussion of The New York Times best-seller "Heaven is for Real" and a heaven Bible study guide.
The eight-week study begins Friday, May 27, and will run from 7-9 p.m.
Participants are asked to bring a Bible and a notebook. One may borrow copies of the books to be used or make other arrangements.
The course will be facilitated by Susan Bonser. Program session plans and calendar include two hours of presentation, interactive Bible study, snacks, and discussion in each session for the eight weeks.

Chem-Free Committee
On Tuesday, May 24, the PV Chem-Free Committee will meet at 6 p.m. at Sen. Pat Browne's office at the intersection of Old Route 115 and Route 209 across the street from the Chestnuthill Diner.

Christian literature
Anyone having outdated non-denominational Sunday School papers and curriculum for any age, or Christian literature, magazines and devotionals may donate them to Monroe County BCM missionary Jim Ecker for one of his ministry friends.

Zion Seniors
The Zion Senior Citizen's group will meet at 11 a.m. at the church in Brodheadsville.
Seniors are reminded to bring a sandwich. Beverages are provided.
The seniors who gather at the church under the Monroe County seniors program will meet both May 18 and May 20, beginning at 9 a.m.
Mission trip
Members and friends of Zion Lutheran are now at on a work mission trip. Youth Group members and adults of Effort UMC will be going on one in July to Peterstown, West Virginia.
Fundraisers are planned to help support the group, currently at 10 youth and five adults, for that trip.
Garden needs
The Garden of Giving in McMichaels is into the planting season. The next planting days are scheduled for May 21-22. Anyone over age 12 can help.
