May 20, 1953 Two firsts from Morgan help Nesquehoning pulls off a 54-45 track upset of Coaldale. Morgan takes both the high jump (5-3 ) and broad jump (17-10 ) in the Nesquers' first-ever dual meet win. Dale Steventon, son of head coach Bob Steventon, cops the 880 while Bill Sluck captures the mile run and Coome claims the pole vault.
