Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary and theft incidents in recent days.

Troopers said a residence at 15 Recreation Drive, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, was entered sometime between April 29 and Friday, May 20. Entry was gained through the front door. Removed from the home was a television and several other miscellaneous items. The home is owned by Steven John Eng, 47, of Jackson Heights, N.Y.

Elizabeth R. Peterson, 50, of 3606 Ashley Court, Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported someone removed an HP laptop 15-inch computer from the kitchen area of her home. The theft occurred sometime between 6 p.m. on May 17 and 2 p.m. on May 18. The computer is valued at $400.

Troopers are investigating multiple thefts from vehicles that occurred along S. Fireline Road, in Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township. Taken from the unlocked vehicles were miscellaneous items, U.S. currency and loose change. The thefts occurred between 11 p.m. Friday, May 21, and 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Gary Lee Wentz, 58, of 9665 Interchange Rd., Lehighton, Towamensing Township, reported unknown criminals kicked open/broke the side door of his home. The residence, however, was not entered. The incident occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Friday, May 20.

Dan Anglone, of Bloomsbury, N.J., reported someone knocked down the traffic control sign used in the parking lot he owns at the intersection of state routes 209 and 534 in Polk Township, Monroe County. The incident was reported on Sunday, May 22.
