Summit Hill
St. Paul Lutheran
A special Memorial Day service will be held to remember our fallen heroes and to honor our veterans and service members on Sunday, May 29, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Carl Schweitzer, a retired pastor from Lehighton, will lead the service. Visitors are welcome to attend.
On Sunday, June 5, the parish's Confirmation class will meet at 6:30 p.m.
The WELCA group of the church will meet on Tuesday, June 7, at 12:30 p.m. in the church.
Methodist Charge
The service schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, May 29, is as follows:
Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Burgess Gordon will officiate at both services.
The adult Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.
Veterans' photos
In conjunction with Memorial Day, the Summit Hill Historical Society has set up a display of town veterans' photos in its museum on East Ludlow Street. Visitors are invited to visit the museum and look over the photographs.
Democrats to meet
The Jeffersonian Democratic Club, Summit Hill, will meet tonight at 7 o'clock in the borough hall. Nathan Halenar, president, will chair the session. This will be the final meeting until the fall.
New members are welcome to attend.
Lansford
Church committee
The finance committee of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will meet tonight at 6:30 in the church.
Infant baptized
Payton Rang, infant daughter of Angela Comisac-Curry and Thomas Rang III, was baptized on Sunday, May 22, in St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford.
Veterans' Mass
Members of the AMVETS and American Legion posts of Lansford will be recognized during the 8 a.m. Mass at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, on Sunday, May 29.
The Rev. Kenneth Medve, pastor, will officiate, during which time service to our country will be recognized.
St. John's
On Wednesdays at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, holds an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this brief musical evening prayer.
For those who wish to come early, a free simple supper is served at 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult Bible study and children's program at 6:30.
