Named Guiding Star at Palmerton HS

Megan Elizabeth Mummey, a senior at Palmerton Area High School, was named the 2011 April Guiding Star by the Concourse Club of Palmerton for the month of April. She is the daughter of Michelle and Mike Mummey of Laurel Drive, Lehighton.

She is in the top 25 percent of her class. Megan has two sisters, Morgan and Madison. Her school activities include Student Council, Student Forum, Leo Club, Environmental Club, Yearbook, FBLA, and National Honor Society. She is also involved in field hockey, track and basketball manager.

She is active in her church as an altar server, church council member and is a key member of the youth group. She is also active in MDA fundraising, Relay For Life and Dream Come True.

Her hobbies include photography, making jewelry and reading.

She prides herself in being organized and having leadership skills. Her future plans include attending either Muhlenberg or Moravian College to major in the business field.
