Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 12:19 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, along SR196 in Coolbaugh Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Fred Blaise Jr., 25, of Tobyhanna, was stopped after his vehicle crossed the road and into the path of a police cruiser.

He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results.
