The Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 in the Tamaqua Elementary School Library. Fifth grade parents will meet at 6 p.m. that day.
The group will discuss the current and upcoming fundraisers.
Students will have early dismissals on Nov. 9, 10 and 11 due to parent-teacher conferences. Classes will be dismissed two hours early those days.

Veteran's parade
Tamaqua's annual Veterans Day Parade will be held this Saturday, Nov. 5. Parade formation will begin at 9 a.m. at the former Maff Motors, 900 E. Broad St.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and travel west on Broad Street.
The event is sponsored by the Tamaqua American Legion, C.H. Berry Post 173.
St. Peter's Union
The Rev. Cheryl Moore will officiate at the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. The service will include the celebration of Holy Communion. Sunday school classes will meet at 10:15 a.m.
Also on Sunday, the Confirmation class will meet at 11:30 a.m. and Daisies, Brownies and Cub Scouts meet at 6 p.m.
Activities for next week include: Wednesday, Retirees meet at 10 a.m.; Thursday, Prayer group meets at 5 p.m., Junior Choir rehearses at 7 p.m. and Senior Choir meets at 7:45 p.m.
Calvary UM
The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at this Sunday's 10:25 a.m. worship service in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church.
Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.
Also on Sunday, an evening of praise, worship and Bible study will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday prayer and praise services are held at 7 p.m. in the church.

St. John UCC
The Rev. Kevin Duffy Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. A time of fellowship will be held following the service. Sunday school classes meet at 11 a.m.
The weekly service is broadcast on radio station WLSH, AM1410, at 11:30 a.m. Sundays.
Also on Sunday, the Confirmation class will meet at noon.
Activities for next week will include: Consistory meeting at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, choir rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.
