Driver is charged with drunk driving

Covar James Sears, 36, of Wyoming, Pa., has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol as a result of a one-vehicle crash on Nov. 19 on the Effort-Neola Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said impairment was observed after the driver crashed a 2007 Toyota Tacoma just west of Route 715.

Police said he was eastbound on the Effort-Neola Road when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and hit a tree.
