Effort woman injured in crash

Michelle I. Marshall, 387, of Effort, was hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 8 a.m. Nov. 23 on State Route 3004, the Kunkletown Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said she sustained moderate injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment after the crash.

Police said she was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty eastbound on the Kunkletown Road when it failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway. The jeep traveled southeast, veered off the south shoulder of the road, went down an embankment and came to rest in the creek, facing east against an embankment.

The accident happened about 164 feet south of Lakeview Drive.
