A 20-year life span

Published November 26. 2011 09:01AM

Dear Editor:

Wow, I am glad I went to the Lehighton School Board Meeting Nov 17th. I really thought this latest tax increase was to take a large pile of money from the unemployed, under employed, or home owners just holding on from the depression we are in now for three years.

I thought that money was going to be used for lobbying some one or hoping some money could be guided elsewhere. Nope, the truth is, buildings only have a 20 year life cycle and need to be replaced. Heck, I thought most of the buildings in the United States were over 20 years old?

Maybe they didn't know they need to tear down the White House in Washington, DC every 20 years and rebuild it?

Makes sense to the Lehighton School Board. Maybe they should have the company they hired explain that to the Federal Government?
