The monthly meeting of the board of directors for the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network will take place at 9 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville.
Band parents
Pleasant Valley Band Parents are slated to meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at the high school in Brodheadsville.
Monroe Seniors
The Dec. 2 meeting of the Monroe Seniors at Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville will begin at 9 a.m. Those participating in the noon luncheon should contact site manager Doris Philips at (570) 992-6988 a day or two ahead of time.
Wonderful Life
The Pleasant Valley High School Drama Production of "It's a Wonderful Life" will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, and again at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, in the high school new auditorium.
Special music
A Carol & Candlelight Concert performed by students from Nyack College School of Music will be hosted by Mount Eaton Church in Saylorsburg, on Friday, Dec. 2, beginning at 7 p.m. Nyack's English Handbell Choir, Women's Chorale, and Brass Ensemble will be featured. There is no charge for admission, but a freewill offering will be taken.

Dinner and Carol Sing
Effort United Methodist Church is offering a community Christmas Carol Sing-along and turkey dinner on Saturday, Dec. 3, to the community. Admission is free, but a donation of an unwrapped Christmas gift, suitable for a child, age infant through teenager, or freewill donation will be appreciated, but is not required. All proceeds will benefit the church's St. Nick Project.
