Schuylkill crash

State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 4:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, along Darkwater Road in New Castle Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Christian K. Schminkey, 19, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne, southbound and failed to negotiate a right curve near the intersection with SR9104. The vehicle left the road on the right side, traveled about 150 feet, before coming to rest after striking several small trees.

Schminkey sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. Troopers said he was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
