Schnecksville couple celebrate 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. James W. Beers of Schnecksville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.

They were married Oct. 7, 1961 at St. Peter's Church, Mantzville, by the Rev. Arthur Klinetop.

Mrs. Beers is the former Carol L. Frey, daughter of Helen and Ralph Frey, Lehighton. Her husband is the son of the late Stanford and Eurena Beers, Palmerton.

They have three children: Sherry Penrod, Orefield; Sheila Nagle, New Tripoli; and Jeff Beers, Fogelsville; and six grandchildren: Brianna and Brooke Penrod, Brad and Trisha Nagle, and Camryn and Nicholas Beers.

A dinner in their honor, hosted by their children, will be held today in Neffs to celebrate the occasion.
