Bears, Indians tie in field hockey
Pleasant Valley and Lehighton battled to a 1-1 tie in MVC field hockey action on Friday.

Connie Urland gave the Bears a 1-0 lead off a penalty corner with 17:36 left in the first half. Samantha Moss was credited with the assist.
With 6:46 left in the contest, the Indians' Sarah Keer capitalized on a penalty shot to knot the game all up.
The Indians outshot the Bears 16-11. Kristina Schnell and Lauren Burrows split time in front of the Indians' cage and combined for nine saves, while the Bears' keeper Hannah Bard ended up with 12.
Lehighton moves to 7-5-3 (6-2-3 MVC), while the Bears goes to 5-8-1 (5-4-1 MVC).

Lauren Zellner's first half goal was all Northern Lehigh needed to score for a 1-0 Colonial League victory over Pen Argyl.
Zellner took in a perfect set-up from Erika McKay 15-minutes into the opening half and finished it off to account for what turned out to be the game-winner.
The Bulldogs outshot the Green Knights 17-6 on the day. The Bulldogs' keeper Nicole Horn finished six saves to preserve the shutout win, while her counterpart Oriana Eichner grabbed sixteen.
Northern Lehigh improves to 8-5-2 overall and 8-3-2 in the league.

Lehighton posted a 22-18 victory over Pleasent Valley.
Wyatt Clements had a rushing and a receiving touchdown for the Indians and also added a two-point conversion. Tyler Cann rushed for a score and also threw a two-point conversion pass to Teagan Durishin.

Lehighton breezed to a 38-0 victory over Pocono Mountain East.
Tyler Cann had a big game for the Indians as he rushed for two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. He also threw a TD to Dustin Koons. Wyatt Clements added a pair of TDs for Lehighton. Picking up conversions Conner Frey and Erik Skrimkofsky.
Lehighton is now 4-0 on the season.
