DUI case in Carbon

A DUI case was responsible for a crash that occurred Saturday evening in Carbon County.

State Police at Lehighton said the crash occurred as the operator of a 1993 Chrysler Lebaron was traveling east on State Route 895 about 771 feet east of Ziegler Road at about 11:40 p.m.

The operator, a male whose name was not released, lost control of the vehicle and traveled southeast off the roadway. The vehicle then spun about 90 degrees clockwise, and continued southeast, south of State Route 895, where it came to rest facing south.

The operator of the vehicle displayed signs of being intoxicated. The individual submitted to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol concentration, when his BAC was determined to be 0.357 percent.
