Fugitive caught in Girardville
A man who is wanted in New Jersey was taken into custody on Oct. 6 at noon in Girardville and committed to the county prison in Pottsville pending his extradition to the neighboring state.
State police at the Frackville barracks said Jonathan Ayala Sanchez, 24, of Girardville, is wanted in New jersey on robbery charges.
Police said they were joined by representatives of the U.S. Marshals Office in taking him into custody, at which time he was arraigned and remanded to jail in lieu of $300,000 bail.
