Slatington driver facing DUI count

A Slatington driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

Borough police said Alex Keith Lorah, 24, of 250 Railroad St., was cited following a incident that occurred about 3:13 a.m. on Sept. 15.

Police said while on patrol they observed a green colored Pontiac Grand Am traveling north on Main St. that appeared to have recent front end damage. A vehicle stop was made and Lorah was identified as the driver.

While speaking with Lorah police received a radio communication indicating a hit and run had just occurred in the 600 block of W. Washington St. in which several parked cars had been struck. Lorah admitted to striking the vehicles. He also showed signs of intoxication and was taken into custody.

He was transported to the Lehigh DUI Center for a blood test. The test result revealed a .23BAC, police said.
