An officer was on patrol at 2:02 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, and observed a black Volkswagen traveling south on Greenwood Street.
The VW had its right turn signal activated but made a left turn on Hazle, then did a U-turn and headed north on Greenwood. The car jumped the curb, then re-entered the roadway, leading the officer to conduct a vehicle stop.
The driver was identified as Nicholas C. Edmonds, 21, of 167 Gamelands Rd, Tamaqua R.D. Edmonds smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking several beers.
He was given a portable breath test, which indicated a blood-alcohol content of .204 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08.
