Jim Thorpe news
Tire pickup for the borough will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Memorial Park, from 8 a.m. to noon. Tires must be off the rims and those wishing to discard them, must show ID that they are a resident of the borough.
Bloodmobile
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Memorial Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 1-6 p.m. In order to be a donor, you must be 17 years of age.
Speakers
David and Karen Brickley will be guest speakers this week at the 10:30 worship service at Ebenezer E.C. Church, 441 Center Ave. The couple is well known for their national Christian recordings and being authors.
Alumni reunion
The date has been set for the Jim Thorpe Alumni reunion, classes 1955 through 1965. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Whispering Pines at Penn Forest, Route 903.
The next meeting of the committee will be Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the old Jim Thorpe Junior High School, Center Avenue, which is now the administration building.
Community Watch
The Jim Thorpe Community Watch group will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m., on Oct. 20, at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall. There will be an awards ceremony.
Light refreshments will also be served.
