Lansford couple wed 60 years
Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Kostek of Lansford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 13. The couple was married in the former St. Michael's Catholic Church, Lansford, by the Rev. Paul J. Lesitsky. They honeymooned in New York City.
Mrs. Kostek is the former Margaret Kozak of Lansford, daughter of the late John and Anna Kozak. She retired from the garment industry, and was last employed by the former Kiddie Kloes of Lansford.
Mr. Kostek, known to friends and family as "Yippie," is the son of the late Peter and Anna Kostek of Forrestville. Following his honeymoon, he returned to active duty at Fort Bragg, N.C., and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Silberline Manufacturing Company, Lansford.
The couple has two daughters, Jeanne, wife of Charles Haldeman, and Diane, wife of Glenn Conahan, all of Hometown. They also have two granddaughters, Christine Haldeman, an environmental engineer, and Amanda Conahan, a senior classics/Latin major studying abroad in Ireland and Italy.
