The Jim Thorpe National Bank, 12 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, filed against Arthur C. Matson, 8909 Woodlake Court, New Port Richey, Fla., over property at HC-2, Box 2432, SR903, Penn Forest Township. Sought is $59,752.69 and continuing interest.
Wells Fargo Bank, c/o 3476 Stateview Blvd., Fort Mill, S.C., filed against Shaun T. Horner, 428 White St., Weissport, over property at that address. Sought is $75,942.55 and continuing interest.
Wants plans
The Borough of Bowmanstown, 490 Ore St., has filed a civil complaint against SSM Group Inc., formerly known as Spots Stevens and McCoy Inc., 2005 City Line Rd., Bethlehem.
The suit states that the plaintiff terminated its relationship with the defendant, who served as borough engineer, and subsequently appointed Alfred Benesch & Company to the position effective June 1. The suit states the plaintiff paid the defendant in full for services rendered through June 1.
Those services included preparation of certain drawings and plans. The borough has repeatedly requested that SSM provide copies, both paper and CAD versions, of all files in SSM possession related to the plaintiffs' claims but it is alleged that the defendant has failed or refused to do so.
The court is asked to order the defendant SSM to immediately release to the plaintiff all paper and CAD files belonging to the borough and other relief as the court deems necessary.
Slip and fall suit
John and Maureen McQuaid, 221 Holstein St., Bridgeport, Montgomery County, has filed a civil action against Vacation Charters LTD, dba, Split Rock Lodge, 1 Lake Drive, Lake Harmony.
The suit states on June 5, between midnight and 12:30 a.m. plaintiff John McQuaid was walking in a parking lot owned by the defendant and was caused to "trip and fall over obstacles and rocks and debris and defects" causing injuries detailed in the suit.
Negligence is alleged against the defendant and sought are damages in excess of $50,000 plus interest, costs and fees.
Bus suit
Beatrice and Johnny Schafer, 72 E. Third St., Lehighton, has filed a civil action against Joe and Jan's Charter & Tours Inc., 130 McCrackin Rd., Danville.
The suit states the plaintiffs chartered a bus from the defendant for a trip from Lehighton to Gettysburg leaving on Aug. 28, 2010. Beatrice Schafer was on the bus when the bus driver "suddenly and without warning slammed" on the brakes causing her to "fly forward on the bus and break her finger."
Negligence for the accident is alleged against the defendant for injuries sustained and detailed in the suit. Sought are damages in excess of $50,000 on each of two counts plus interest, costs and fees.
